Lesson 02 15 min
Money Movement and Payment Safety
Once money moves, it is hard to bring back
The safest moment to stop a fraud is before the payment leaves. Understanding which payment methods can be reversed helps you choose safely.
Payment methods and their risk
| Method | Reversible? | Notes for defenders |
|---|---|---|
| Card payment | Often, via your bank | Report quickly and keep records |
| Bank transfer | Rarely, if ever | Verify the recipient first |
| Gift card | No | A common demand in scams |
| Crypto | No | Transfers cannot be recalled |
Habits that protect your money
- Verify before you send. Confirm the recipient through a channel you trust.
- Never send money to unlock money. A withdrawal fee is a warning sign.
- Use dual approval for business payments and bank detail changes.
- Act fast if something is wrong. Speed improves the chance of a recall.
Scenario
A platform shows a large profit but asks for a tax payment before withdrawal. A genuine investment does not require you to send more money to receive your own. Stop, keep the records, and report it.
